Bikkur Cholim

Bikkur Cholim literally means "visiting the sick." Anyone who has been sick knows how a short visit and a kind word does wonders. Those who are interested in taking part in this important mitzvah are urged to join the Rabbi in looking in on those whose health has taken a turn for the worse and may be hospitalized, in therapy, or all alone at home. At times an occasional phone call is sufficient. The Rabbi's job is not to do all the mitzvot in the Torah for the congregation. Rather, his job is more properly understood as one of inspiration and education. By personal example others are inspired to manifest consistent kindness in their lives for the benefit of others. Whether organized or not, it's all good. Please consult with the Rabbi for guidance or suggestions in order to discuss ways in which you may become involved in partnering with God to spread kindness in the world.
